Multiple Engineering Talents
Vanteon is currently wrapping up a project that required the engineering talents from multiple disciplines: System, RF, DSP, FPGA, power, embedded software, mechanical, and quality assurance. The product developed by Vanteon is a battery powered, handheld, wireless device that integrates the functionality of four individual devices. The primary capability of the integrated device gives the user (typically a field service technician) the ability to identify routing paths and breaks of hidden conductors (behind walls, ceiling tiles, flooring or buried under ground). The user interface is menu driven and consists of push buttons and an LCD display. The method of identifying the location of hidden conductors and possible breaks is via a spectral representation of energy radiated from the conductor. Vanteon contributed to each phase of this project: requirements development, architecture and design, test plan development, prototyping, testing, and productization. The success of this project is a tribute to Vanteon's engineering, project management and process capabilities.
