Vehicle Locating System
Vanteon is partnering with a large prime contractor to develop a ground based vehicle locating system. Commercial airports will use this system to identify and locate aircraft and ground-based support vehicles. The system relies on multilateration technology which correlates data from multiple RF receivers to determine the identity and precise location of all vehicles (airborne or ground based) within the airports control. This technology might be referred to as a reverse GPS system: Rather than a single receiver and multiple transmitters, a multilateration system uses a single transmitter and multiple receivers. Vanteon's contribution falls primarily in the development of the RF hardware and embedded software that provide the transmitter/receiver interface.
