Software-Defined Radio
Vanteon has officially released the first of its WaveCaster™ series of modular Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platforms. These platforms will enable a quicker time to market with reduced development costs for its customers. The first platform, the WC1, offers a low cost, scalable design based on computational core composed of a Blackfin® processor from Analog Devices and a Xilinx® Virtex®-5 SXT FPGA coupled with a library of target-agnostic software/gateware modules for radio operations. A tri-band RF board provides half-duplex operation in the common ISM bands of 900MHz, 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz. Vanteon has authored a whitepaper (available upon request) describing how SDR has helped their customers.
